แพะน้อยเจ้าปัญญา

ลูกแพะตัวหนึ่งหลบออกมาจากฝูง ไปหาหญ้ากินในป่าตามลำพัง พอตกเย็นลูกแพะจึงเริ่มเดินกลับไปที่ฝูงของมัน

A goat sneaked off the heard to graze in the forest. When it  was evening he started to walk back.

ระหว่างทาง มันบังเอิญไปเจอกับสุนัขจิ้งจอกเข้า ลูกแพะตกใจกลัวมาก มันพยายามจะวิ่งหนี แต่สุนัขจิ้งจอกไวกว่า จึงมาสกัดหน้ามันไว้ได้

 On the way he met a fox. The goat was frightened and tried to run away. But the fox was faster and blocked his way.

เจ้าอย่าคิดหนีเลย ไม่มีทางหนีพ้นหรอกสุนัขจิ้งจอกขู่ ลูกแพะหยุดยืนนิ่งแล้วคิดหาทางเอาตัวรอด ข้าได้ยินมาว่าท่านมีเสียงร้องที่ไพเราะนัก ขอให้ข้าได้มีโอกาสฟังเสียงร้องของท่านจะได้หรือไม่

 Don't try to run away. It is hopeless, growled the fox. The goat stood still and thought of how save himself. I have heard that you have a very beautiful voice. Let me have a chance to hear you voice.

เสียงหอนของมันดังไปไกลถึงฝูงสุนัขที่ทำหน้าที่ดูแลแพะ พวกมันจึงรีบวิ่งตามเสียงหอนนั้นไป เมื่อมาถึงรีบชับ ไล่สุนัขจิ้งจอก

His howl was so loud that it reached dog that looked after the goats. The dogs quickly run towards the howl. When the dogs arrived, they tried to chase the fox away.

สุนัขจิ้งจอกสู้ไม่ไหว จึงต้องทิ้งลูกแพะไว้แล้ววิ่งหลบ หนีไปโดยเร็ว

The fox could not fight the dogs. He had leave the goat behind and quickly run away.
